Who Moved My Cheese?
i’ve read this book named "who moved my cheese" written by Spencer Johnson, M.D. which i think the story is really meaningful.
cheese in the story is not only the ordinary normal cheese that we eat, it is a metaphor of some other thing. it could be a good job, a relationship, a big house, a nice car and many others.
it is perfectly normal that when we are owning a cheese, we feel happy and comfortable with it. we never thought of the possibility that it will gone one fine day.
so one day when our cheese is finished (ate by ourselves), we thought it being moved by some other people which it’s actually not.
in my opinion, well it’s ok to think like that at the very beginning. however, if we do not act fast by adapting the changes on the cheese that had happened to us, we’ll be starving and become weaker from day to day. at the end of the day we are still staying in the same old place keep thinking who had moved away my cheese or keep blaming others.
so it is better that we respond positively on the changes which is to leave the old cheese station and explore the maze again to search for a new cheese. the maze here is a metaphor of some other thing, it could be an organization that you’re worked in, a community that u lives in.
" the quicker you let go of old cheese, the sooner you find new cheese"
this is a quotation from the novel.
it’s true and absolutely true. if we keep complaining and never try to solve the problem, all we get is just suffers and frustrations. why not just solve the problem and start a new life.
it might be hard, it might be tiring, but it will surely end with a happy ending if we really put efforts.
in my opinion, not only people who involve in business but all, may read it. it’s a good book
